Create a beautiful snowflake to celebrate winter. Our snowflake is adapted from The Paper Craftery. Your kit includes all the supplies needed for one snowflake.
Supplies:
one snowflake pattern
glue
40 paper strips for quilling
toothpick – taped to your glue for safe keeping
Let’s get started! Your snowflake pattern is a guide to help you place your quilled paper strips. You might have noticed that the pattern has gaps between the shapes, this was to help make it easy to see and follow. Your finished product should connect so don’t worry about lining it up perfectly.
The snowflake pattern shows you the different shapes you will need.
1 small circle
16 large circles
4 diamonds
8 tear drop
To start you will need to quill all of the pieces. Below are videos to help you see how its done. If you have trouble, YouTube has tons of videos demonstrating each kind of shape. Don’t forget to glue the paper strip once it is completed.
Now that you have all of your shapes its time to glue them together. Your glue has a precision tip to make gluing easier. To start, place your template on a flat surface. If you are prone to being messy you can cover the template in wax paper to keep the glue from sticking to your shapes, but this step is not necessary. Lay your quilled shapes over the pattern to see how the finished product will look. Starting from the center, begin to glue the diamond shapes to your small circle. Then glue your first set of tear drops, then some large circles, and keep gluing all of the pieces.
