What you will be doing to create a packet?
Each packet includes three parts:
(1) a note written by you from the provided template
(2) twenty-six alphabet flashcards that you create
(3) a computer-printed page of educational games to play with the flashcards (provided below).

Your supplies:

  • Markers (feel free to use additional art supplies that you have at home)
  • Index Cards- 30 but you will only need 26
  • colored piece of paper
  • Binder clip
  • NOTE FROM VOLUNTEER letter – to be copied in legible handwriting & filled with your name
  • Double-sided COVER LETTER in English/Spanish

Directions:

Step 1. Create the FLASHCARDS – Write one capital letter on the blank side of the index card. They can be simple or colorful, but be sure that they are easy to read! At the end, you will have a set of 26 cards with a capital letter on each page.
Step 2. Hand copy the NOTE FROM VOLUNTEER onto the sheet of colored paper filling in the blanks in the template with your information. Note: this is from you, not from Love Letters. While you will use the template, it should be in your legible handwriting and signed with your first name. Click here for the NOTE template. (A copy of this letter has been placed in your packet for copying.)

Step 3. Assemble the packet.
#1. COVER LETTER – click here to print one

Packets are due May 31, 2021.  Each packet is worth 2 hours of community service.  Although the library will only supply one packet per registrant, feel free to use your own supplies to create additional packets for more community service credit.
