Dear Families,
Children ages birth through grade 5 can participate in our Winter Challenge, which will run from Monday, January 5th through Friday, February 6th!
Beginning, Friday, January 2nd, pick up the activity/instructions sheet at the Children’s Room Desk, or print them here (instructions & activity sheet). Online registration also begins on this date.
Complete at least 1 activity per week.
You must create an account, and then log the title, author’s name, and the minutes spent reading, or being read to, on READsquared. READsquared has an app that can be used, as well. (All users must create a new account, including those who have participated in the Reading Club, in the past.)
As long as time has been logged, your child(ren) can come to the Children’s Room weekly to participate in a game and to receive a prize, no later than 1 hour before the building closes. Monday is the first day of the week for new prizes.
Log at least 150 minutes of time by Friday, February 6th, in order to complete the Challenge and to receive a grand prize!
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
*Registration begins Friday, January 2nd, but will be ongoing throughout the program.*

If you are only registering one child, choose the Myself Only option. Choose the Myself + Other Readers option, if you will be registering more than one child. In both instances, please register as if you are your child(ren).
If you are adding other readers in the future, log onto READsquared, and then click on Account and then Add Reader or Program, for each additional reader.
LOGGING INFORMATION
*The logging of minutes read begins Monday, January 5th and ends Friday, February 6th. 150 minutes must be logged by February 6th, in order for your child(ren) to complete the requirements of the Challenge.*
*Please be aware that it is very important to choose the correct reader’s account when logging minutes, in order for your child to receive credit for the time spent reading. You can find your child’s name under Reader Accounts, or by clicking on the picture of the person when on the app, using the arrow to choose the correct reader. Choose the picture of the pen to log the minutes read.*
*As long as their time is logged weekly, and they show us their marked activity sheet, children can come weekly to the Children’s Room Desk to claim their weekly prize.*
